I thoroughly enjoy reading the articles and letters in your column and it has inspired me to look more deeply into spiritual and New Age subjects.

The strangest experience ever to happen to me happened when my daughter was being born. At the same time my father was dying. He was desperately "hanging on" long enough to see the baby born.

My labour pains started at 1 a.m. but I told my husband not to call my parents, as they were probably experiencing a bad night again. "Let them know when it's all over" I said.

My daughter was born at 2 minutes past three in the morning.

The next day my husband went to tell Mum and Dad -and was greeted by my Mum. "I know" she said before my husband could speak "We've got a granddaughter, "

Apparently my father had been sleeping peacefully for once when he suddenly sat up in bed and shook my mother awake. "Baby Deborah's coming- she's coming - SHE'S COME!" he said. (we hadn't even discussed the name before)

Mum looked at the clock. 2 minutes past 3 a.m.!!!

By the way, Dad lived long enough to hold her briefly in his arms in bed (when she was 10 days old) then he died.

nce he knew that she was safe and well and could hold her in his arms he could then let go of his pain and enter the afterlife.
