At Christmas time, two years after my father died, my wife and I were on a visit to my mother's home.

We were all sitting watching the Television in front of an open fire when our eyes were drawn to a shape being formed by small red cinders on the bricks leading towards the chimney.

We realised that it was a wreath, the very image of what my father used to make at Christmas time. After a short time it disappeared and was replaced by a profile of a face that was definitely that of my father.

My father was cremated and I wonder if this had something to do with the way he communicated with us?

Most of us are familiar with the way cumulus cloud formations or glowing cinders in the fire  form pictures. The most common pictures we see are of faces or fantastic landscapes. Psychologists will sometimes ask their patients to look at a splash of black ink on a piece of paper. The images that the patient describe are interpreted as symbols of processes occurring in the mind.

The same technique can be used by psychics to obtain clairvoyant information for example with crystal gazing or sand reading. In your case it is difficult to say honestly if this was a spirit communication from your father or pictures that your mind projected. The fact that three of you saw the same thing at the same time would give weight to the argument that somehow your father was working through you all to make his presence known.
