A STRANGE TURN ON

After my husband died last January I was sorting out his things and tore up some old photographs of his aunts. "You won't be needing these now John" I said aloud. But as I spoke the television set switched on by itself. You can imagine, I was quite startled.

I then went upstairs and the portable television also switched itself on. This kept happening to both televisions every time John's name was mentioned and continued for about two weeks. My daughter was convinced that John was trying to communicate with us. Everything's back to normal now even though the occurrences never did frightened me. What do you think is the meaning behind what happened?

You also state in your letter that neither of the televisions had a remote control which rules out radio signals from something else causing the problem. Of course it could be caused an electrical fault but this doesn't explain why the televisions only switched themselves on when you mentioned John's name or how the fault corrected itself. It's also true that our own mind can influence electrical machinery. I'm more inclined to believe your daughters theory- that it was John communicating to let you know he is all right.
